Parkinson’s Rock Steady Boxing

People with Parkinson’s can enhance their daily quality of life and build impressive power, strength, flexibility and speed, by exercising with coaches who know the ropes. Fight your way out of the corner and start to feel and function better. These classes have proven that anyone, at any level of Parkinson’s, can lessen their symptoms and lead a healthier and happier life.

From the Instructor

  • Coach Justine

Rock Steady started when the Parkinson’s Society of Southwestern Ontario started looking for a local fitness class to recommend to people living with Parkinson’s. Cam Davis agreed and started a small exercise class. In August 2017, the Parkinson’s Society offered to send Cam and a co-worker to Indianapolis, headquarters for the Rock Steady Boxing program, to become certified coaches. That lucky co-worker was me! I became so inspired that weekend that I came back knowing I’m going to do this; this can change people’s lives. I took the reins and started Rock Steady Boxing Sarnia Lambton in October 2017, and the program has quickly grown.

Testimonial

  • Tom B.

Rock Steady Boxing has made a substantial impact on my social and physical support. It gives us structure and a dedicated commitment to exercise on a weekly schedule. The leaders put tremendous effort into the development of each session. Their emotional investment in the program and compassion is evident with each session. What initially started with six individuals has grown to over 20 people.  The camaraderie amongst the participants is priceless. We are so lucky to have such an investment in our community for Parkinson’s patients.
